Meet the Artist: Praverb

1. Please introduce yourself?
My name is Praverb the Wyse and I am an emcee that reps the state of Virginia. V's up A's down hehe, I am apart of what many would consider jazz hop, I love jazz and I combined the passion with hip-hop (shoutout to the Jazz Addixx). I also tend to blend christian elements into my music due to my experiences since I was raised in the church. The Center of Attention is a lovely album that consists of my everyday struggles and some of the things that I had to experience that made me the man I am today.

2. From where?
I was born in South Carolina but I reside in Virginia...I have lived in California, Georgia, D.C, and Philadelphia.

3. Music influences?
I have a plethora of musical influences that span and cross into different genres. Michael Jackson, Teddy Pendergrass, Aerosmith, Phil Collins, Mozart, Sade, Lauryn Hill, and many more. I have a lot of rap and hip hop influences as well but my main ones are Big L, Tupac, and Big Pun.

4. Debut appearance?
Sheesh my debut appearance was probably in 1999 when I burst onto the scene with a couple of verses.

5. What have you released so far?
I have released a couple of projects but for the most part they have been mixtapes. Disturbing The Priest, Wisdom's Cafe, Unheard Word, and The Gospel is Free are all mixtapes that I released. I will release The Center of Attention through Domination (promotion plug hehe) Recordings on May 6th, so cop it!!!

6. Do you produce?
I do not have the patience to produce so I do not dabble with the boards woooooooooo.

7. Best moment for you in hip hop?
Watching and witnessing the transformation of MC Hammer haha, he went from a dance mc to a hardcore one in like 2 years haha.

8. Any plans for a tour in the near future?
I have plans to tour the world, Hopefully someone will help fund this trip hehe.

9. What's next?
An EP with Dirty Treats, an album with Teddy Roxpin, a collaborative effort with Master 3, a collaborative effort with Max Haben and hopefully a poetry book...and world DOMINATION hahaha.

10. Shout outs?
I want people to know that I have love for all the producers and emcees that I have collaborated with, most notably Teddy Roxpin, Cold Legistics, Dirty Treats, Cas Metah, Trinidad, JC Rhymez, Dj Keor, Jazz Addixx, Teflon, Jiveation, Dj iPerfection, Palerider (I forgot what your new name is), Arrow, NoVa Infinite, Pat D, Rip One, Dj Rip, Dj Soulclap, Dj 2Up 2Down, Denku, D-Mitch, Spoonfull, Master 3, my homies over at KanyeTalk, Wes from Sit Down Stand Up, Street Hop Magazine, Life on Wax, Rhymehouse, Rock the Dub, Hip Hop Ruckus, Point Game, Denzy + Klarity, Lord Cyrus, Phatal, BSD, and many more. I would also like to give thanks to Domination Recordings and End of Earth Records and all the websites and blogspots that help spread the name.
